Monthly Archives: February 2012
I had fun goofing around with my friend Paul Marcellini this weekend, he was set up next to me at the show. Check out his exquisite Everglades photography at paulmarcellini.com. For you Gator fans, he’s got some great orange and blue sunset alligator shots!
This was my last weekend show in South Florida until the fall… this coming weekend, March 3 & 4, I’m off to Venice on the West Coast of Florida for the Venice Art Classic on West Venice Avenue! After that, I’ll be at March’s Third Thursday Art Walk in Islamorada on the 15th and I’ll be in Downtown Naples on March 24 & 25.
I got lots of comments on my lionfish paintings during ArtiGras- it is encouraging to know the invasion of lionfish in our ocean is common knowledge now. Hard to believe this wasn’t even a topic just three years ago.
There was a nice write up about me (with a little bit of copy and paste from my website..) on the “Rickie Report” just before ArtiGras. Also highlighted in this article is a painter friend, Nancy Tilles. I am a big fan of her large triptychs- the triptych pictured in this article is five feet high, the same height as Nancy! You can read the article here.
Last Thursday, February 16th, was the 3rd Thursday of February. You should know by now, on the third Thursday of every month, where to find me! I am usually set up for the Art Walk in Islamorada’s Arts & Cultural District, on Morada Way and the Old Highway at Mile Marker 81.5.
This month Pasta tried a new look for the Art Walk- and I definitely like it! I showed just a small selection of my art, and set up with a colorful ‘ARTbrella’ which definitely gave my display that Key-sy feeling I love so much. Make sure to come out in March- the 3rd Thursday is March 15th!
I hope you enjoy this new site- lots more cool things to come! Please have some patience while this painter tries to use her IT skills
